Cinnamon Banana Bread

Banana bread is an all time favorite in this house! What a great snack or breakfast on the go. This recipe replaces the butter with applesauce and has the addition of cinnamon and brown sugar in the batter and on top, which makes this healthier version of banana bread deliciously sweet and cinnamony. 

Ingredients:

  • 4 bananas

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup applesauce

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Grease 9x5 banana bread pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mash bananas, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.

  3. Add in applesauce, sugar, and eggs and mix well.

  4. To the wet ingredients, mix in flour, baking soda, and salt, and stir until just combined.

  5. Pour batter into the banana bread pan.

  6. Bake for approximately 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean.

  7. Slice and enjoy!
